
Dr. Robert Kempers

Dr. Robert Kempers is a Sports Medicine Consultant with 13 years of experience in the field. He is a specialist in exercise physiology and human movement. Dr. Kempers treats all musculoskeletal concerns such as neck-shoulder pain, back pain, tension headache, hip, knee, and foot problems.
Dr. Robert also consults on performance loss after inactivity, operation, or illness (post COVID19 tiredness).
As an ex-elite triathlete, he has an interest in endurance sports, strength and condition training. He is particularly interested in the mechanics of human movement – completing both Biomedical Health Science and Physical Therapy degrees. His motto: exercise is medicine.
Dr. Robert Kempers has over 10 years experience as a team physician in professional cycling. Alongside his position as medical coordinator and physician for the Dutch National Cycling Federation, for which he was the physician for the London’12, Rio’16 and Tokyo’21 Olympics, the European Games Baku ’15 and Minsk’19, he works for Team Jumbo-Visma as the medical coordinator for the women’s team. Dr. Kempers has worked at the HAN University of Applied Science and is still involved in research in the field of bone health in young and elite cyclists with a special interest in relative energy deficiency in sports (RED-S) in endurance athletes.
