Nephrology Nephrology is a medical specialty that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases. Systemic conditions that affect the kidney such as, diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disease and systemic problems that occur as a result of kidney problems. When Should You See a Nephrologist?  Make an appointment with a Nephrologist if you experience any of the following:
  • Change in urinary function: Getting up at night a few times to urinate, having difficulty to urinate, urine is darker than usual, urine that is foamy or bubbly, urine that contains blood
  • Swelling in the body: Water retention and dimpling of the skin after being pressed for few seconds
  • Severe fatigue and weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Unexplained back pain
  • Skin breakouts and itching
  • Ammonia breathe or metallic taste in the mouth
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Feeling cold most of the day

Dr. Enrica Falbo

Dr. Enrica is an Italian Board Certified Nephrologist with over 27 years’ experience in the field. She is specialized in treating patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, systemic autoimmune nephropathy disease, diabetes nephropathy, hypertension, anemia, Vitamin Deficiency, urine infections, kidney stones,  immunosuppression of patients with renal disease, hemodialysis, kidney transplantation and peritoneal dialysis and has a special interest in the management of diabetes, hypertension, kidney transplants, endocrinology, autoimmune disorder and nutrition.

Prior to joining Valiant Clinic, Dr. Enrica worked in various reputable organizations in Italy and the UAE.
